It usually takes three to five years for a flooded lead-acid battery to die. If your battery is flooded, it will last about 30,000 starts before it needs to be replaced.
Lead Acid Batteries Are Sealed

Lead-acid batteries have lead plates, but AGM batteries use glass mats instead. This is where the name comes from. The way it works is by soaking up electrolytes and keeping them rigid. AGM batteries need a charger that is made to work with those kinds of batteries. Always make sure that a charger works with an AGM battery.
About seven years is how long the average AGM battery lasts. It can last as long as three sealed or flooded lead-acid batteries. Because it lasts a long time and works well, it can be used in cars with start-stop technology, which saves fuel by turning the engine off and on automatically when the car is idle.
Batteries That Use lithium-Ion (Li-On)
Most electric cars (EVs) use lithium-ion batteries to power them. They can hold and release a lot more power than lead-acid or AGM batteries. They are also known as lithium batteries and li-on batteries. A lithium-ion battery can last anywhere from eight to twenty years. It can keep your EV running for 100,000 to 200,000 miles before it needs to be changed. That long life can be cut short, though, by extreme weather.
